The Eclaireur in Paris and spectacle by Arne Quinze

“There is a shop, is an experience. It is not a decoration and is not an artwork, but it is a form of expression. It will have it own people. My greatest joy is whether to take an imaginary journey into their heads”.

A kind of trip? Thus, the multidisciplinary artist and designer Arne Quinze talks about his last job-creation, the interiors of the mythical concept store just opened the Eclaireur in Paris. An indispensable reference point for shopping in Paris since the ’90s, when the store was among the first brands to launch later became famous as Dries van Noten, Dubreuil, Girbaud, Hussein Chalayan, Martin Margiela, Prada.

To create a dream world, centered not so much on emotion as experience goods offered by visiting the location, Quinze has recreated a sort of fantasy world, almost uterine, covering the local waste assembled of wooden planks mixed with other materials waste.

Candor and harmony in a Roman apartment

Tagged with:

A cellist who loves the interior, and his family live in this apartment in a historic building in the district Esquilino Rome. The interior designed with the help of architect Sergio Pone, full of candor, harmonized by a decidedly contemporary and rather minimalist style contrasts sharply with the appearance of the historic building and characteristic of the whole neighborhood.

The living area includes entrance hall, lounge, kitchen and dining area, as in an open space follow each other almost seamlessly: hallway/sitting area, a sofa and a daybed white minimalist white always designed by the owner. To give color are just works of art: The painting above the fireplace, Lorenzo Mattotti and wooden silhouettes of Clare Rapaccini. The piano ends the large open space entrance, where he also placed an iron-height library.

In the kitchen area, blocking steel kitchen goes well with the colors are neutral and the rest of the house with the minimalist spirit chosen, hints of color are also on the Vietnamese wooden chairs and dining table with chairs of modern Arne Jacobsen , illuminated by the Arco lamp by Flos. Even the staircase leading upstairs is integrated into the white and minimalist apartment, because it consists only of white stairs without handrails nor redundant connections.
