On Satellite: Les Belges, ten magnificent in the design

Within the furniture fair this year, as from 2007, was the group Les Belges. A platform of ten designers with their innovative proposals for the domestic environment: lighting, wall coverings, tables and bookcases, chairs and furnishings.

The ten chosen propose innovative solutions that contribute to a mission now essential to the design: that of creating smart and sustainable supply of objects that can live with the marvelous complexity of the universe.

Among the projects on display there were three that particularly interested me. Babul and Triplex are lamps and furniture systems designer Emmanuel Gardin.

Beginning in the order of the group Stuut lamps made ​​by a collective of four young lovers who design at the furniture fair have made ​​their first collection of lamps: Babel, Chicon and Carrousel.

Babul is a lamp design features a pure play and ready to be “peeled”. Thanks to the zipper that surrounds the lamp is possible to measure the amount of light that emits Babul: a small amount with the zipper fully closed up to fully open with the zipper open and the lamp like a flower blooming.

Triplex is instead a lamp made by designer Emmanuel Bauthier designed to lighten dark areas and often forget that they are usually in our living rooms: the angles of the walls. With this new type of lighting, the angles will become a new feature. The lamp will not be held in different types, from white to black in color, clear or frosted Plexiglas, bright or satin. It can be installed on the ceiling, resting on the ground, such as wall sconces or even serve as a desk lamp, depending on the needs and wants of each.

And finally, the products of Emmanuel Gardin whose leitmotif is the (multi) functionality and flexibility. A sheet of aluminum, when folded cleverly allows you to classify and arrange literary works, or even sit on it to broadcast ambient light. Just as the magazine-table made ​​of white aluminum and has four comfortable rollers. He follows us everywhere and has books and magazines in an orderly manner. It also has a convenient shelf to store a book or thin drink while reading.
