Duggan Morris, a private residence in London

The Manser Medal 2011 is the award given by the RIBA project considered as a “best residential construction” of the United Kingdom, for 2011 was awarded the project of a private residence in Highgate, north London, the study Duggan Morris Architects.

The original building was built in 1968 and renovated several times before the task was entrusted to the study Duggan Morris Architects.

The project involved the total redesign of the interior and the garden, the main structure has been replaced by steel beams and pillars, for larger rooms for the living room and bedroom.

Design solutions have transformed the house giving it a contemporary style. In particular, the architects have tried to reestablish a connection, even visually, between the interior spaces dedicated to daily life and the garden.
