Designed by Norwegian architecture firm Haugen / Zohar Arkitekter, this house-fire was designed as a tool for urban legend sociability. The idea, in fact, is to gather around the fire the members of the town of Skjaermveien Barnehage, where the project was designed to encourage dialogue and sharing of leisure time.
The structure, intearmente made of wood, resembles the shape of the old Norwegian tradition culture of earth huts. Made from 80 layers of overlapping blocks of pine wood, on the horizontal distance between them to ensure adequate ventilation, the house-fire stands for the hearth, inside, occupies the center space. An opening at the top allows a proper flow of smoke. The entry, however, can be closed with a sliding door to ensure proper heating environment.
