The stigma

The collective Snark surprises us once again with an innovative and sustainable urban elements is a system of free and shared – just sharing chair – designed by Emanuele Bompan, Gaspare Caliri, Marco Lampugnani and Beatrice Manzoni, for the city of Modena.

The project was the recognition that sit in the city today is not so easy, you often find sawn benches, removed, set aside, almost as if they were a hindrance rather than a service referred to qualify.

The intent of the designers is therefore to “Give the people in their neighborhoods, or return them to recognize the place, give a chance for the formation of a sense of community”.

It follows the same procedure of bike-sharing, but in this case, the usable product is a “mobile meeting” of anodized aluminum, but it has been studied as a hybrid figure in a chair and a bike.

The retreat sessions for free through a reader on the Health Card and can be used for a maximum of 6 hours, are all modular and equipped with an integrated Wi-Fi antenna that lets you connect to the network without spending a cent and a system geo-positioning on a map: once seated, you can access the project site that shows, through a dynamic map, lots of content loaded on the city even by the citizens themselves. He wants to be, therefore, also an instrument of participation because it allows users to collectively create a kind of guide on-line in their city

To further encourage the use of the service, which are already free, those who benefit from access points automatically to a library staff that will allow him to win prizes, discounts, concessions, consumers, shopping for cinemas, theaters, etc..

Therefore, the primary objective is the sustainable use and part of the city. Besides a place “is made” of people who frequent it, and promote the dynamics of repossession is only the first step towards bringing the city to its citizens.

In my opinion, this is an innovative and successful … sure, I have some doubts on the object itself, more than anything else on the comfort and transportation! What do you think??
